GOP Rep. Bob Good trails in Virginia congressional primary
Incumbent faces challenge from state Sen. Bryce Reeves
Good has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, but Reeves has outraised him
Rep. Bob Good (R-Va.) is trailing his challenger, state Sen. Bryce Reeves, in the Republican primary for Virginia's 5th Congressional District, according to a new poll.
The poll, conducted by the Trafalgar Group, found that Reeves leads Good by 10 points, 52% to 42%. The poll was conducted from May 17-19 and has a margin of error of 2.9%.
Good has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, but Reeves has outraised him. Reeves has raised $1.5 million to Good's $1.1 million.
The primary election will be held on June 21.
Good is an arch-conservative who has been a vocal supporter of Trump. He is a member of the House Freedom Caucus, a group of conservative Republicans.
Reeves is a more moderate Republican. He is a member of the Republican Main Street Partnership, a group of moderate Republicans.
The 5th Congressional District is a Republican-leaning district. Trump won the district by 10 points in 2020.
